Is it possible to convert PNP type sensor to NPN type or vice versa? | |

PNP (sourcing) and NPN (sinking) type sensors use PNP and NPN type transistors respectively, so they were manufacture for a specific output configuration. You cannot simply convert the sensor configuration unless you alter its internal circuit. | |

PNP type sensor has positive output and NPN has a negative output. Both sensors cannot be used together in a plc input module with 1 common terminal. | |
